In a personal injury case, non-economic damages such as pain and suffering, will often receive the majority of attention by both plaintiff and defense counsel. However, an experienced and competent economic damages expert can enhance the understanding of the claim by mathematically determing the cost of future medical services. This is accomplished by calculating and defining the various economic losses a plaintiff suffered as a result of an injury. This multi-step method of building a proper damages report is extremely informative if done properly. 

While the economist report is the last report to be constructed, it is often the most crucial as it is the bottom line monetary figure that solidifies the catastrophic case.
