Functional Capacity Evaluations
A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) is a comprehensive assessment of both clinical and functional tests that enable the accurate recording of any person’s ability to work, perform activities of daily living, and measurement of the patient’s overall physical capabilities. FCE’s are used as the industry standard in both plaintiff and defendant situations where the extent of the injury must be verified or in a dispute resolution where the validity of a claim is upheld or queried.
Just as the economist needs a vocational rehabilitation assessment to formulate wage loss data and a life care plan to determine future medical care costs, a vocational rehabilitation specialist needs a functional capacity evaluation to accurately determine a client’s return to work feasibility.
IRC can provide you with a reliable, validated, and professional FCE which will assist you in presenting and clarifying your case in court and/or help settle the case in pre-litigation. All demand letters should include an FCE to accurately document the client’s impairments and disabilities. Many Personal Injury cases lack objectively validated reports and this is where an FCE can quickly establish your case and present it in a proven validated assessment.
